Next Meeting of the CAECG in September 2023
The next meeting of the Council of Anglican Episcopal Churches in Germany is “educational” and open to all! It is from 7 – 9 September 2023 in Frankfurt (at the Church of Christ the King) and the theme is “Defending Democracy: the role of the churches in the democratic process.” The intention of the meeting is to gain some vision of how the churches can foster the democratic process and our participation in it from a Christian perspective. What role should churches play in the public square? Where are we / our partners currently active? How and where could we as Anglican/Episcopal churches in Germany get involved?
Speakers are:
- Dekan Ulf-Martin Schmidt, Pfarrer der alt-katholischen Gemeinde in Berlin und Beauftragter am Sitz der Bundesregierung in Berlin
- The Revd. Dr Jack McDonald, Adviser for EU Affairs to Bishop Robert Innes, the Archbishop of Canterbury’s Representative to the EU
- The Revd. Dr. Mark Barwick, Chaplain St. Alban’s Anglican Church Strasbourg and experienced policy advocate on behalf of faith-based NGOs
The registration fee for all participants is €40, this includes dinner on Friday and lunch on Saturday. If you would like to attend, please contact Yvonne Cockcroft (CAECG secretary) – yvonne AT cockcroft.de
